As embarrassing as it is for me to admit, I must say that I occasionally don't get the exposure right in photos. Luckily, I have photo editing software and can fix some of my mistakes. Today I am going to guide you through how to do that in Lightroom.

Below is a before and after of editing this cute dog's photo.

1. First, open the overexposed photo in Lightroom.

2. Then, click on the Develop tab.

3. Next, there should be a drop down menu that says Basic.

4. Then, there should be a slider for exposure under tone.

5. There is also a slider for highlights that you can mess with to try to make the image less bright.

And that's it. It is always best to get your subject properly exposed, but sometimes you only get that one shot and that one shot might not be the best. Now you know how to fix overexposure in lightroom!
